Today's challenge: "Using contrast in your photography can give you very artistic shots. Make a color photo with high contrast today."

This is a portion of a wall remaining from the Winchester Palace on the south side of the Thames - between the Globe and the Golden Hind.

Today's challenge: "Make an interpretive photo of a subject or scene that sums up your mood today."

Well - using a play on words (Thanks Derek for the idea!) - this is the opposite of my mood yesterday. Joe and I were able to see Mark Knopfler at the Royal Albert Hall - so today my mood was anything but 'Dire Straits'.

Today's challenge: "Think of a favorite childhood sport, game, or activity. Make a nostalgic photo today."

OK - I know this is Tower Bridge and not London Bridge - but stay with me.... We were on the Thames and I remembered the children's rhyme London Bridge is Falling Down.

Today's challenge: "Get down and get your knees dirty today. Find some plant life, get low to its level (close and wide), and make a photo."

We arrived at our B&B just before noon - and were all able to take a shower before venturing out into London. I found these just outside of Kensington Palace.

Today's chalenge: "How do you get around: car, train, bicycle, plane, feet? Make a photo that represents your mode of transportation today."

How appropriate the challenge was tor today! Our original plan to have Andy and Tina use buddy passes to get to Denver, then all of us hop on the non-stop from Denver to London looked like bad choices given load status on the flights.

Some critical thinking found a route that had us meet them at DIA - and try for a 10 am flight to New Orleans. A 3 hour lay over in NOLA, and then we hoped to get on a 5;20 pm flight to Dulles. Again - luck was on our side. On arrival at Dulles - gate C28, we had to sprint to C4. The 9:50 flight to London was already boarding - and we were hoping again for empty seats.

We got to the gate, saw our names on the board in positions 5-6-7-8, and it said there were 42 seats.....do we dare hope?

After waiting just a few minutes our names were called.....Joe and I assigned 2E and 3E - First Class - Andy and Tina 12E and 13E - Business Class.....London, here we come.
